Raihanah Pranggono

Indonesian & Psychology & English Coach & Corporate Life consulter

Hello!! My name is Raihanah and I am a Year 12 student currently undertaking the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program. I have consistently obtained the Principal’s Award for Academic Achievement and demonstrate excellent results in my subjects. My favourite subjects are Biology and Chemistry, as it is the pursuit of science that ignites my flame of curiosity. This passion for science manifests through my participation in additional learning opportunities that come my way, which is why I participated in the Australian Science Olympiad last year and received a Certificate of Distinction in the Biology examination.

I enjoy partaking in a wide variety of extracurricular activities, whether they are outside of school or school-related. First of all, I am a member of the Australian Mensa and a peer leader of the Australian Refugee Association Youth Ambassador Leadership Program after having become a Youth Ambassador for the organisation last year. I am also actively engaged in several of my school’s leadership councils, which are the Music Committee, the Year 12 Formal Committee and the International Mindedness Council, for which I am the leader of the Communications project that aims to keep the student body constantly engaged in internationally-minded activities through the production of digital bulletins for the school, with information on a fortnight’s worth of international celebrations, events and random facts about a different featured countries. Additionally, my artistic and musical passions have also led me to taking acting classes, singing in the school choir and Jazz Vocal Ensemble as a Soprano 2 and playing the piano, because I am currently studying for the Grade 8 AMEB Piano examination this year and have passed the Grade 5 ABRSM Music Theory examination with distinction. Finally, I am an active member of UN Youth Australia, being a Student Ambassador to my school this year and having participated in 2 of their conferences for which I have been awarded for outstanding achievement. I’d be happy to help with Biology, Chemistry, English, French, Maths and Psychology!

Ray Aoki

Japanese Coach

Hello, my name is Rei Aoki, and everyone calls me “Ray.”
I was born in Japan but came to Australia for high school. I am planning to start university/college this fall in either the US or the UK. Although I have studied in Australia and can speak English, my mother tongue is Japanese. So I would be able to help you learn Japanese.

Also, I am more than happy to just have a conversation about Japanese culture in general. I like humanity subjects  (Especially Economics and History), so I might be able to help you with Economics theories.

In terms of daily life, I am a big fan of baseball, fishing, and I also enjoy wood crafting(I am working on my recurve bow riser at the moment). The reason that I am participating in this program is that I believe in the power of education.

There is a confucius quote that says, “If you think in terms of a year, plant a seed; if in terms of ten years, plant trees; if in terms of 100 years, teach the people.” I think this is true, and I believe that in order to make a blighter future, education should be accessible for everyone.
